The crucial step in making your needlework piece perfect is the finishing. This includes matching of the perfect fabric with a fabulous trim or welt to enhance your needlepoint. You will be delighted with the one-of-a-kind masterpiece that JRG's creativity will produce.

Recipe for good finishing

Waste Stitches : Most of us are never clear as to when to add waste stitches to our finished needlepoint project. Waste stitches are needed for pillows or stockings where a welt or trim needs to be sewn on. It is okay to put waste stitches on needlepoint pieces that are to be inserted but it is not required. There is no waste needed on ornaments, eyeglass cases, or scissor cases. If you are not sure, drop by the Gate and we will be happy to advise you if waste stitches are needed for your piece.
